On July 6, 2013, we had the pleasure of providing wedding reception DJ services for the wedding of Michael and Lauren DeMarchi. The reception took place at the Emerson Park Pavilion, In Auburn, overlooking Owasco lake.
Mike & Lauren's introductions were very grand! We arranged all wedding party members in a hallway on the far end of the room. As each couple was introduced, we had them line up across back of the dance-floor, creating a perfect backdrop for pictures when Mike & Lauren would share their first dance to follow. For introduction music,
Mike & Lauren picked Beyonce - Crazy in Love (a fun upbeat choice). After introducing the wedding party, we asked guests to rise, and after a dramatic pause, gave mike and Lauren the formal, but exciting grand introduction they deserved.
After guests were seated, they shared their first dance, which their wedding party joined in on during the last minute of music. As I cued them to join in, timed specifically to a crescendo in the music, guests applauded and cheered. It was executed perfectly, and is sure to be remembered by all. :)
For an outdoor cocktail hour overlooking the lake, we provided wireless sound transmitted from inside the reception ballroom. At the Emerson Park Pavilion, we placed one elevated 12" speaker far off to one side and out of the way. This can be done anywhere there is electricity (and shelter), within around 90' of the reception hall, and we're glad to include it complementary. Cocktail music is an essential part of a wedding reception.
Mike and Lauren opted for a custom Monogram Projection, which was also a great way to differentiate the 'dance-floor' since the room has all hardwoods, without a specific designated dance-floor. It was a big hit with guests! Visit our Monogram Projection page for more info on adding this unique custom touch.
Assisting with the wedding, was John Parolin, a talented DJ who I've known for years. John has a great ear for music and picking the right song. As soon as the sun set, the dance-floor was packed all night long.
Lauren and Mike had great taste in music. We played all of their favorites, while strictly adhering to their Do-Not-Play list as well. Carrying out their wishes is an important part of creating a wedding reception that is personal and unique!
It was a pleasure working with Tim Capwell, the Site Coordinator at the Emerson Park Pavilion, as well as Kevin Knieriem, a photographer from Buffalo, NY, whose images can be seen above.
Best,
